MONTANA ELOPEMENT
NOTES FROM THE COUPLE:
Neither of us are particularly keen on being in front of a camera, Rob is a film major and I avoid the limelight like the plague, but our engagement shoot was a blast! Sydney got Rob out of his shell and didn’t seem to mind my incessant inappropriate jokes. We left not knowing what the photos would look like but convinced Sydney had to be there for our big day.
When we told Sydney our plans to cancel the wedding and elope in Montana she did not even hesitate. It wasn’t a question for her. Our parents and siblings weren’t with us on our big day, but they have been able to feel a part of everything because Sydney effortlessly captured every moment perfectly. Our plans changed, the weather was unexpected, but the photos are absolutely magical. Sydney is not only an amazing photographer, but an outstanding person that anyone would be lucky to have in their corner on a big day. We could not have asked for a more dedicated and talented individual to truly make our vision a reality.

Behind the Scenes: We were very literally keeping the officiant warm while Shelby and Rob exchanged their vows.
I mean it when I say we BOOKED IT back to the warm trucks because it was so cold!
NOTE FROM SYDNEY:
I’ve known Shelby since freshman year of college when we worked at a local farm stand/greenhouse and shucked corn for hours on end (yeah, I can’t look at corn the same to this day).
Not only did I learn how to drive in the snow that weekend, but I also shot the most stunning and freezing elopement ever. It was just Shelby, Rob, Rob’s best friend/officiant, two friends and I standing in knee-deep snow on a mountain with snow flakes blowing around us. The officiant, who had never officiated before, knew that this was going to be one of the quickest ceremonies since Shelby was in a dress and we were on a mountain in the snowy wind. We immediately ran back to the cars the second they were pronounced married! It was beautiful nonetheless and I am in awe of these two every day.
