2025 with Sydney Rose Portraits
This past year has been HUGE for us here at Sydney Rose Portraits.
I did some of the most amazing elopements of my life — in a snowstorm and in a hurricane — and I collected interns like my life depended on it.
I also logged some record numbers. As of now, Sydney Rose Portraits has hit over 55 weddings throughout the course of our career, over 1600 followers, and more than 100 sessions in 2024. This year alone, I did 11 weddings/elopements, held my first content day, and attended a conference. I also traveled to four other states for shoots! And, on a personal note, I got engaged to the love of my life. 🎉
As I continue to reflect on 2024, I can’t help but overflow with gratitude for my clients. I met so many of you, and you welcomed me into the most special moments of your lives with open arms. I often find myself wondering, how did I get here? All of you, my clients and friends, are the answer.
None of this would be possible without any of you. All of my brand values point back to you! I aspire to capture your love and tenderness, and I have to say that in 2024, more than ever, I felt that love right back.
When you hire me, you don’t just ask someone to show up with a camera, you trust someone to be a small part of your intimate moments. It means so much to me that I am able to be that person. Because of all of you, I was able to grow my passion for storytelling and capturing fleeting moments into something tangible, and nothing has made me happier. My life also wouldn’t be the same without my three interns. Watching them grow has brought so much joy into my life and helped spark my creativity. They work so hard and always add a fresh perspective to the work we do. Whether it's playing with lighting in our old basement studio or they’re exploring on their own, I am so proud of them and all they do. I really, truly, am (looking at you especially Mercedes 🫶🏻).
Sydney Rose Portraits is my baby (don’t tell my cat, Louie), and I am so thankful for how it’s developed in 2024. It’s been such a year of learning for me, and also teaching. The more time I spent with my interns, the more I realized my calling for education. That’s why, in 2025, the education side of Sydney Rose Portraits will be officially launching!
I’ve been cooking this up for a while now, and I can’t wait to keep embarking on this teaching journey and educating more young photographers. It’s so rewarding and helps me keep my love of this job fresh and funky.
My Education chapter will mainly revolve around the Sydney Rose Portraits Mentorship Program. I’ll teach you everything you need to know to get into photography, from what those weird buttons on your camera do to how to build clients. We’ll do portfolio-building sessions together, and I’ll help you hone your style and get comfortable both in front of and behind the camera. I’m also planning a workshop for 2025! At least one ;)
It’ll be in Clemson or Greenville, and as we speak one of my interns is helping me nail down the details. It’ll be a day of teaching, photoshoots, and content creation with like-minded photographers, and I am SO freaking excited to announce more.
