Education
As a photographer for Clemson University, I was given the opportunity to advise the Photography Club and teach one class a semester, as well as serve as a mentor to the UPIC interns for our photography department. We’ve done everything from creating and focusing our very own version of the Clemson style to setting up creative portfolio-building sessions. In my own business, I usually take on one intern during the summer and we cover EVERYTHING from starting a business, to working a camera, to keeping lasting clients.
Note: I’m currently based in Greenville, SC but let’s go somewhere new!
After years of following my own mentors and teachers, I found myself offering guidance to other photographers that had questions about their cameras, their business, and their art. Educating creatives and providing resources are something that I am passionate about. Designed to help you feel inspired and more confident in your art, these resources are great for any creatives of any skill level! I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for YOU.

Hey beautiful people,
I’m Sydney Rose (see Figure 1) and I specialize in intimate weddings, elopements, and love in Upstate, SC and beyond.
I've worked in the photography industry for seven years but have been following my photography passion for eleven and counting.
My deep seated passion for capturing beauty, love, and human existence has propelled my career into various positions with Clemson University and the wedding industry. My work touches on the raw emotions and memories of your big life events.

What have I NOT gained?... honestly.. I have grown exponentially as both a photographer and and artist.
1. Photographer- I learned how to use/manipulate light, how to use a camera in manual, how to use flash, what it looks like to speak to crowds and leaders of organizations, how to stay calm in extremely overstimulating environments, the difference between certain lenses (when to use each in different settings), how to use Lightroom Classic
2. Grown as an artist - the shear amount of hours that I put into taking photos has impacted the way that I view an environment, how to spot a good "frame", learned what my preferences are considering editing, my personal brand image. Through this exposure I have gained the confidence that I could see myself in a position like this in my future post-grad (which I thought was impossible prior this summer).

How do I know what’s right for me?
Go with your gut! If you have very specific questions and want help on a personal level, go for the mentorship. If you want help covering the basics or need to refresh your creativity and skills, check out the courses. If you want to get with a community of fellow photographers and create some content, come see us at a workshop day!

Why should I choose you to teach me?
After being in the industry and training Clemson University photography interns and students, I have a lot to share to help you grow and most of all, I WANT to help you grow and be the best you can be for your clients. Community over competition!
What do you cover during a mentor session?
I teach whatever you want and need to hear! Like I said before, I want you to be the best you can be for your clients, and each photographer needs something a little different. So, I’ll send you a questionnaire before our meeting to help understand you and your business!
Can I shadow you on a shoot? Can I second shoot a wedding or elopement with you?
Shadowing is something that I offer if you need a more hands-on approach to learning! For second shooting I am happy to add to my list if you meet the requirements for second shooting! For more info send me a message!
What experience level do you teach?
I will teach anywhere from learning the camera basics to running a business and ensuring client happiness so they keep coming back to you year after year!
