What to Expect When Booking with Sydney Rose Portraits
Ok, the million – well, more like a few thousand – dollar question: why me? Why book with Sydney Rose Portraits? Out of all the other wedding photographers in South Carolina, in the country, and worldwide, why me? Well, not only will you get s t u n n i n g images, but you’ll get the unmatched Sydney Rose Portraits process, which is what I’m here to explain today. Walk with me as I tell you what to expect when working with me, from inquiry to gallery delivery.
A Stress-Free Wedding Photography Experience in South Carolina
One of the most important things to me when it comes to my business (and beyond) is that everyone gets unconditional support, respect, love, and ease on their day, whether that is a wedding day, engagement day, or graduation day. I pride myself on being a photographer for everyone and being able to say I’m an LGBTQ-friendly photographer in South Carolina.
From the moment we begin working together, you can expect someone who is warm and welcoming, and is going to be your biggest cheerleader to the alter or the hat toss. I’m your trusted professional camera woman, but also someone who’s a person and who wants you to feel fully present, not posed. I’m focused on YOU and your love, your way, on your wedding day.
Step 1: Inquiry & Connection With Your Greenville Wedding Photographer
Booking with me begins with an inquiry. You reach out via email and the form on my website, and then we can start chatting about all things wedding (or elopement). This will help you decide if I’m the right fit for you, and will help us build trust with each other.
During this stage of booking, I want to learn more about you and your love story, and I want you to get to know me and my values a little more, since I believe in the personalization aspect of photography. Every love story deserves to be seen and celebrated — no matter your background, skin, body, or who you love.
We’ll begin by having a no-pressure consultation call to discuss your vision, the vibe you’re going for, your must-haves, and any logistics we should consider. This is your chance to feel things out, ask questions, and see if it feels right on both ends. I’ve found that connection, artistically and personally, is a huge part of creating magic together; so this is just a fun way to get to know each other a little better.
After that, I’ll send a follow-up email recapping everything we discussed because we love multiple forms of information over here. If you’d like to move forward with booking me from there, we’ll either tweak things as needed or head straight into booking. To officially secure your date, a 30% nonrefundable retainer and signatures from both you and your partner will be needed. Once that’s done, you’re officially on my calendar, and we’ll be doing check-ins every step of the way.
Step 2: Planning the Perfect Day Together
When you book with me, you get an automatic assist with your timeline, location, and all the details of your unique special day. I can guide you through picking a ceremony time that will get that perfect golden hour lighting, choosing a location that reflects your adventurous spirit, or any other hurdles you need help clearing.
I work closely with you, your partner, and your planner, if you’ve got one, in order to build calm into your day. While there is a set timeline, I tell every couple that we’re on “couple’s time.” You’ll never be rushed on your day when working with me, and we can plan your photos, wedding timeline, and whole day together.
Step 3: The Wedding Day Experience
A wedding day with me isn’t going to feel like a wedding day with any other. We’re here to celebrate your love, and you’re here to live out the day of your dreams.
I place more emphasis on being present than anything else, and that doesn’t just mean me being present; it means I focus on making sure you can be present for your day. My style is a balance between editorial and documentary photography, so you can expect me to be a fly on the wall, capturing the day, but pulling you aside for staged photos at a few key points during the day. I use intuitive direction for when I choose to create photos, and I pose you and your partner according to your vision for the day.
My photography is for couples who want more than just beautiful images — it’s for those who want a photographer who supports your vision, celebrates your choices, and helps you create a day that feels like you from start to finish. Photos should hold memories, but they shouldn’t be your only memory of the day; you should remember your wedding experience because you lived it, and because we captured it.
Step 4: After the Wedding — Delivery & Beyond
Sneak peeks are sent out within one week of your wedding day and you will receive the full gallery within 8 weeks. This gallery typically includes surprise GIFs and film photography coverage, but each day is different, so each gallery is different!
My ultimate goal is that your photos feel like you. I take an intentional approach to my photography, with everything tailored to who you and your partner are as a couple. There’s a reason for each photo I take, how I edit it, and the reason is you. Optional albums are designed by me (with your image selections) and handcrafted by an amazing printer. Other prints are available for easy ordering by anyone you send your gallery to within your gallery site!
Why My Process Works (and Why It Matters)
All of my systems and the way I approach your day exist to make your day easier. I don’t want you to have to think about anything besides getting down the aisle on your wedding day, so I take care of everything else.
I value authenticity, connection, inclusivity, and artistry, which is why my process is personal, and I take the time to get to know my clients so that their photos can reflect who they are. And I cannot wait to do this work with and for you and your love!
