Fall Pine House Wedding, Trenton SC

A joyful, sunlit day at the Pine House full of thoughtful touches and romantic details

A little bit about them: Bailey and Kyler are high school sweethearts and have been together for what feels like (and is probably pretty close to) ten years. They wanted to get married close to home and chose The Pine House for its amazing facilities and the fact that it is surrounded by peach trees. They wanted their album to feel like them, capture lots of movement and candid moments, as well as have that dreamy “oh my god, we did it” feeling.

What we did:

The McKies’ vision for their wedding day was the perfect balance between candid documentation and styled portraits, and the Pine House is the perfect backdrop for it. We began with some STUNNING flatlays, and I was able to capture all the moments and all the feels as Bailey got ready with her mom and all her bridesmaids. Bailey had a tender first look with her dad, and Kyler shared one with his mom before a lovely afternoon, outdoor ceremony.

These two put so much thought into the little things about their day, including a board that read, “And suddenly, you were my everything and I was home,” which greeted guests and set the tone for the day. Bailey and Kyler also made the decision to have a phone-free wedding so that their loved ones could truly be in the moment with them; this was the kind of intentionality their day was rooted in.

After the ceremony, we took some portraits in the gorgeous greenery and peach fields that surround the venue, and these two, oh my GOSH, they are just so beautiful together, especially with the golden hour lighting hitting them just so. Then the two rang the wedding bell and shared a private meal on the balcony together. Bailey and Kyler wanted to make sure they had time for themselves to soak up the day and slow down together, and I was all about it.

What they said:

“One of our favorite moments that you captured was when we were running back across the road from the peach tree fields. It was something that we didn’t think much of while we were doing it, but the way that you captured it gave us a fun little runaway newlywed moment. And we also have to mention the moment of us eating our dinner on the Pine House balcony. The way that you added your creative touch to this moment & captured it through the inside window looking out at us was exactly the style that we were looking for, and it’s one of our favorite pictures!

“We chose Sydney Rose Portraits because we really fell in love with the way that she captures not just simple portraits, but genuine human connection and crafts it into beautiful images that you’re able to look back at and feel those moments all over again. When looking for a photographer, it was very apparent to us that Sydney values small moments & details as much as we did, and that’s exactly why we chose her over others. Our wedding day was full of so much joy, and we owe a big part of that to Sydney! She made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease all day long, and added extra time into your schedule to remind us to take a minute and soak it all in between moments.”

Notes from Sydney:

Bailey and Kyler have been working with me for over a year now, from when we did their engagement photos, to Bailey’s bridals, to their wedding, and hopefully many more happy family memories to come. These two are a delight and so in love, and I knew it when they were still 16 and 17 years old. Kyler was my younger brother’s best friend growing up, and he was essentially my extra little brother. It’s been amazing being able to watch both him and Bailey grow up together and continue their love story. This wedding was extra special because it was also a family affair for me, as my brother was in the wedding party and my mom was the makeup artist! Dad just came along for the ride!
